The 58th Annual Conference of JSSE will be held as a hybrid event using both an on-site venue and Zoom.
Before registering, please be sure to read the following requirements and the "Prohibited Items and Precautions" in the next section.

[Important] Conference overview and Presentations

Conference overview
  • The local venue is the Kurume City Plaza (8-1, Mutsumon-machi, Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture).
  • All oral presentations will be broadcast live using Zoom.
  • There will be no archive distribution, even after the conference.
  • Recording in on-site and on-line, is prohibited except by the host.
  • Abstract submission and participant registration are separate processes. Participant registration will be available in October. All presenters, including invited speakers, are required to register as participants.
  • The proceedings will be published in PDF format. A printed version will be available for purchase to those who wish, at an additional cost to the participation fee.
  • The social gathering will be held after the session on Thursday, November 27th.

Presentation
  • Presentation style would be either oral or poster (choose one of them at the submission).
  • Oral presentations will only be held at the on-site venue. Online presentations will not be accepted.
  • It is acceptable to use videos as part of your presentation contents.
  • The oral presentation time will be 20 minutes. (15 minutes for presentation and 5 minutes for discussion.)
  • All poster presentations will be displayed and presented on-site (no online display will be available). Please be sure to remain at your poster during the core time. The core time will be announced simultaneously with the program.
  • Posters must be created in a size that fits within the display panel (W960mm × H2,100mm). Please bring your poster and set it up during the time from the afternoon of the day before the conference until the opening ceremony on the first day.
  • All poster presenters will be evaluated for the Poster Award.
  • For both oral and poster presentations, if the presenter is unable to present on-site on the day of the conference due to personal circumstances, the presentation will be canceled. Substitution by a co-researcher is possible, but in such cases, the presentation will not be eligible for the presentation award.

Other notes
  • We may cancel the on-site event and hold it entirely online due to unavoidable circumstances such as infectious diseases or disasters.
  • On the day of the conference, we may ask for your cooperation in wearing masks and disinfecting or washing your hands.
  • If you have symptoms such as fever (37.5°C or higher), cough, sore throat, or taste disorder on the morning of the conference, you will not be able to participate at the venue. In such cases, refunds will not be available.
  • Childcare space will be available at the venue. If you wish to use this service, please contact the secretariat.

[Important] Prohibitions and Precautions

Prohibitions
  • Storing all or part of a presentation as digital information on electronic devices.
     Examples: Filming or recording presentations, including screenshots.
  • Illegal acquisition or printing of video files and PDF files used in presentations.
     Example: Forcibly downloading or printing files using illegal software.
  • Improperly publishing numerical data or ideas presented in lecture or presentation elsewhere.
     (Examples: taking pictures of slides and showing them in your own presentations, uploading screenshots to social media, etc.)
  • Posting personal or confidential information of presenters or other people on social media, etc.
     Example: Posting the location of incidents based on inferences from the content of presentations, posting email addresses of related parties, etc.
  • Posting defamatory or derogatory comments about others on social media, or posting information that damages the credibility of specific individuals or organizations.

Precautions
  • After the registration deadline, participation fees will not be refunded even if you are unable to attend due to circumstances beyond your control.

Presenters for presentations are limited to members of JSSE (General members, Student members, and Honorary members).
If you are not a member, please apply for membership via the "Application for Individual Membership" before abstract submission.

Non-members have to first complete the “Application for Individual Membership” to obtain a membership number.
If you are in the process of applying for membership, please indicate “in process”.

Please enter full name of the presenter in alphabets or Kanji (family name, followed by given name).

Please fill in the reading of the full name of the presenter in Katakana (family name, followed by your given name).
If the name is written in alphabets, please fill in alphabets again.

The Student Presentation Award is open to student members who give oral presentations. Poster presentations are not eligible.
Only presenters who have entered the Student Presentation Award are eligible for consideration.
The Student Presentation Award will be given to student members who give outstanding presentations in terms of the clarity of their presentation content, the ease of understanding of their presentation materials, and the accuracy of their responses to questions, and who are expected to have the potential for further development in their research activities in the future.

The General Presentation Award is open to general members who are under 37 years of age as of April 1 of the award year.
Only oral presentations are eligible; poster presentations are not included.
Only presenters who have entered the General Presentation Award are eligible for consideration.
The General Presentation Award will be given to presenters who are expected to further develop their research activities in the future, based on the clarity of their presentation content, the ease of understanding of their presentation materials, and the accuracy of their responses to questions.

Please enter your age as of April 1, 2025. The General Presentation Award will be awarded to General members who will not have reached the age of 37 as of April 1 of the award year.
